It is with profound honor, great patriotism, and an unwavering sense of responsibility that I stand before you today as the Speaker of the Youth Parliament for Renewed Hope, on the occasion of this historic Press and World Conference.
Today is not merely another gathering; it is a defining moment in our collective journey toward building a stronger, united, prosperous, and progressive Nigeria. It is a gathering of visionaries, patriots, nation-builders, and believers in the limitless potential of the Nigerian youth.
At this critical stage in our national history, the youth must not remain silent observers in governance. We must become active participants in shaping policies, strengthening democracy, promoting national unity, and advancing sustainable development.
Distinguished ladies and gentlemen,The establishment of the Youth Parliament for Renewed Hope was born out of the urgent necessity to create a platform where young people can contribute meaningfully to governance, leadership, innovation, peace-building, and democratic participation. We believe strongly that the future belongs to nations that invest in the intelligence, creativity, and energy of their youth population.
Today, under the visionary leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Nigeria has witnessed bold and strategic reforms aimed at repositioning our nation for long-term economic stability, institutional growth, infrastructural advancement, and youth empowerment.
The Renewed Hope Agenda is not merely a political slogan; it is gradually becoming a national transformation movement built upon courage, economic reforms, institutional restructuring, and strategic investments in the future of Nigeria.
Within a short period in office, the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has introduced significant initiatives that directly impact the lives of ordinary Nigerians and particularly the youth. These include the establishment of NELFUND to support students’ education financing, the CreditCorp initiative to expand access to credit facilities, reforms promoting Local Government autonomy, implementation of the Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) initiative to reduce transportation burdens, activation of refineries, tax reforms, expansion of non-oil exports, improved foreign investments, mining reforms, and strategic infrastructural projects such as the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway and other legacy roads across the federation.
Furthermore, this administration has shown commitment toward technological advancement and youth development through programs such as the 3MTT Tech Talent Programme, TVET vocational initiatives, Digital Learning for All, support for SMEs and industries, health sector reforms, regional development commissions, agricultural processing zones, and employment support initiatives targeting beneficiaries across wards nationwide.
These policies demonstrate courage, foresight, and leadership committed toward building a self-reliant and economically viable Nigeria.Distinguished guests,No nation develops without sacrifice, reform, and difficult decisions. While challenges undoubtedly exist, we must equally recognize sincerity of purpose, direction, and visible efforts toward national reconstruction. The responsibility of patriotic citizens, especially the youth, is not merely criticism without participation, but constructive engagement capable of strengthening democratic governance and national development.As a youth-driven institution, the Youth Parliament for Renewed Hope firmly believes that continuity of visionary leadership remains essential for sustainable national progress. We therefore express our strong confidence in the leadership capacity, democratic experience, economic vision, and national transformation agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
We believe that the Renewed Hope Agenda represents a pathway toward institutional stability, economic recovery, infrastructural modernization, youth empowerment, and national rebirth. For this reason, we urge Nigerian youths to support progressive leadership, democratic continuity, and responsible governance under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Our support is not based on sentiment alone, but on visible reforms, courageous leadership, strategic national policies, and commitment toward rebuilding the foundations of Nigeria for future generations.
To the youths of Nigeria and across the globe, I say this with conviction: Your future must not be surrendered to hopelessness, violence, division, or political manipulation. The future is built by informed participation, education, innovation, patriotism, and unity of purpose.Leadership is not merely occupying offices; it is service, sacrifice, accountability, discipline, and responsibility. Therefore, the younger generation must prepare itself intellectually, morally, politically, and professionally for the great responsibilities ahead.
To our respected media organizations, we deeply appreciate your role in sustaining democracy and informing society. We encourage you to continue promoting truth, peace, unity, responsible journalism, and developmental communication that strengthens national cohesion.
Distinguished ladies and gentlemen,History has repeatedly shown that whenever visionary leadership aligns with the energy and determination of the youth, nations rise beyond limitations and achieve greatness.
As we officially commence this Press and World Conference, may our deliberations inspire practical solutions, meaningful partnerships, stronger youth participation, national unity, and sustainable development for generations yet unborn.
