A pressure group, the Grassroots Mobilisation for APC PBAT nationwide (PBATGMAPC) Tuesday declared its support for the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Vice President Kashim Shettima in 2027.
The group also reaffirmed its commitment to Nigeria’s unity and peace.
In the opening remarks, the founder/national coordinator, Alhaji Mohammed Lawal Rabana, described the Tinubu/Shettima administration as a leadership team that represents stability, competence, and community in governance.
Speaking in Abuja Tuesday during National Grand Inauguration and Award Ceremony towards preparatory Grassroots Mobilization for re-election of His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Rabana said Tinubu/Shettima administration has demonstrated visionary leadership and deep commitment to national development since coming to power, adding that breaking the ticket in 2027 would amount to disruption of a process that is already yielding results.
He further hailed Nigerians for showing greater political maturity by de-emphsising religion and ethnicity in leadership selection while urging continued focus on competence and good governance.
He stated further that the group was formed after the amalgamation of all the political parties that merged to form APC. The support group started from the first pioneer APC national chairman, Chief John Oyegun, after placing a privileged phone call to the then leader of the merger, Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu, now President Tinubu by the national coordinator, Alhaji Rabana.
He stated that Senator Tinubu gave the support group his words and moral support to mobilise and canvas votes and ensure landslide victory in 2015 presidential, National Assembly, gubernatorial, state assembly and other elected positions for APC.
Been in attendance where APC national chairman heavily represented by his chief of Staff HON. Mustafa Bala, HON.George Akwume (SGF) Heavily represented by his first wife Mrs Hanmo Akwume, FCT Amac Council Chairman HON.Angulu and all the leaders and coordinators across the State were in attendance.
Mohammed Lawal Rabana, added that the group is duly registered with the party in category A support group.
He stated that the group synergised with campaign councils such as Buhari Support Organization (BSO), Presidential Campaign Council (PCC), National Council for Buhari Support Group (NCBSG), Tinubu Support Group (TSG) and Amalgamated APC Support Group (AASG).
He said the support group contributed immensely to the success of APC in the 2015 general elections and bye elections in 2019 and 2023.
