Jankawa  Traditional Leader  Sues For Peace, Solicits Government Support on Infrastructure

 By Moses Agbe (Abuja).

A community leader in Jankawa, Karu Local Government Area of Nasarawa State, Esu Micah Robo Agbebegy, popularly known as SA’ Zhiknawnayi (Jankawa), has called on residents to embrace peace and unity as a foundation for development.

Delivering his message to mark the Salah celebration, Agbebegy emphasized that no meaningful progress can be achieved in an atmosphere of conflict. He urged members of the community to continue living harmoniously with one another, noting that peace remains the bedrock of growth and prosperity.

“Without peace, there will be no development in any community,” he said, while encouraging residents to sustain the spirit of tolerance and cooperation.

The community leader also commended the Governor of Nasarawa State, Engr. Abdullahi Sule, for what he described as the good work being carried out in Karu Local Government Area.

He acknowledged ongoing efforts by the state government to improve the lives of citizens.

However, Agbebegy highlighted key challenges facing the Jankawa community and appealed for urgent government intervention.

According to him, poor road infrastructure remains a major concern, particularly the road linking Masaka to Jankawa, which he described as being in a deplorable condition.

He further revealed that the community is currently making efforts to build a police division to enhance security, but requires government support to complete the project.

In addition, he pointed out that the community’s primary healthcare facility, which has existed for over a decade, is now in need of rebuilding and upgrading to effectively serve the growing population.

Agbebegy appealed to the government to assist the community in addressing these critical needs, stressing that such interventions would significantly improve the quality of life for residents.

“With a population of over 10,000 people, Jankawa remains one of the safest communities in Karu Local Government. We are appealing to the government to support us with these key projects so our people can enjoy better living conditions,” he said.

He reaffirmed the community’s commitment to peace and development, expressing optimism that with the right support, Jankawa would continue to grow and thrive.
