FHA BOSS, HON OLATUNDE OJO SOLICITS CO-OPERATION, SUPPORT OF NATIONAL ASSEMBLY TO IMPLEMENT HOUSING AGENDA.

By Moses Agbe-NASS

The Managing Director of the Federal Housing Authority (FHA), Hon Olatunde Ojo has solicited the co-operation, support, synergy and crucial partnership of the National Assembly in order to holistically implement the affordable housing imperatives of the Renewed Hope Agenda of the President Ahmed Tinubu administration.

The newly appointed FHA boss made this clarion call during a recent courtesy visit to the National Assembly Complex accompanied by the Executive Directors of the Authority including Mr Mathias Byuan (Housing, Finance and Accounts), Alhaji Umaru Abdullahi ( Business Development), Mrs Oluremi Omowaiye (Project lmplementation) and Mr Ezekiel Nya-Etok ( Estate Services). During the visit, Hon Olatunde Ojo met with the Senate Committee on Housing led by Senator Aminu Tambuwal where he reiterated his call for the restoration of the funding of the Authority through the annual federal budget in order to meet the numerous financial obligations facing the organization.

The Senate Committee members which also included Senators Emmanuel Udende, Osita lzunaso, Abdullahi Yahaya, Anthony Nwoye and Peter Jiya amongst others were warmly receptive to the prayers of the high powered delegation and urged the FHA management to send a memo on the budget funding proposal to the Presidency as well as copying the National Assembly in that regard. Indeed Hon Olatunde Ojo was on familiar turf as he has served as a Honourable Member of the House of Representatives and venerable Chairman, House Commitee on Communications in the 7th National Assembly ( 2011-2015).

Coincidentally, his amiable host, Senator Aminu Tambuwal also presided as Honourable Speaker of the House in the same 7th Assembly and murmurs of appreciation, approbation and approval rent the Committee room when Hon Ojo referred to the Senate House Commitee chair as his leader, his boss and his mentor in the legislative arena. A similar scenario played out in the House when the Committee Chairman on Housing, Hon Balele Aminu received Hon Olatunde Ojo and his entourage promising to lend the full co-operation, support and solidarity of the House in ensuring the fulfilment of Mr President’s Renewed Hope Agenda’s affordable and qualitative mass housing action plan.
