….Sabiyi’s Fractional EXCOs Given in Marching Order.

Parliamentary Staff Association of Nigeria (PASAN) National Assembly Chapter, today has staged a peaceful protest at the premises of its national headquarters, plot 520, Trow plaza, Olu Awotesu Street, behind Mr. Biggs, Jabi District over the alleged #3 billion fraud by a 7man led factionalized and impeached Sunday Sabiyi executives. Addressing the press at the venue of the protest differently by members of a group who were operating under the aegis of ‘ Concerned Representatives of the Congress ‘, beginning with them first Speaker, Comrade Yusuf Abiola,to Comrade Jacob Eyagomare, Comrade Emese B. Tosin, Comrade Stanley Itemogbo amongst others; all chronicled on the alleged #3 billion fraud emanating from Check -off dues, Grants, Aid , sub, subvention, internal Revenue from PASAN Buses, Current and unaccountability.
Other issues canvassed by the group are neglect of Members’ welfare, ratification of vote of no confidence passed on the Sunday Sabiyyi ‘s factional EXCO; a call on the PASAN National Leadership to call for Congress and supervise it in order to inaugurate a new caretaker Committee within the 14 days ultimatum which is expected to elapse on 11:59pm of Sunday 6th October, 2024; kicked against victimization of it’s members and staff from Management retaliation and a call for an urgent audited financial reports and operational reports beginning from 2019 till date, so says the group.
It may interest you to know that the crises that engulfed the National Assembly Chapter dates back to 5years ago, precisely 2019 when fourteen(14) Executives Members of the Union were elected but it was alleged that it’s Chairman, Sunday Sabiyi colluded with The National President and Zonal Vice President and other Stakeholders to illegally remove nine Executives referred to as G9. This abuse of democratic principles led to a deeper crisis in the Union, creating an opportunity for a select few to manage the affairs of the Association which led to” lack of Accountability, Transparency and mismanagement of the Association’s Funds; resulting in a passage of vote of no confidence and impeachment of the Executives on July 15, 2024″,says the Group.
Some of the placards displayed by the protesters read”. Say No to imposition, Sabiyi Must go! .PASAN National, Stop the illegalities, obey the Constitutional Call for Congress!. National, Stop imposing Sunday Sabiyi and the Austed EXCOS on NASS PASAN Chapter!. Five Years of dues and loans unaccounted for! .Over #3 Billion Unaccounted!!! “.
The embattled Executives and Some Stakeholders are namely, Sunday Sabiyyi (Chairman, 2019-2024),Samtiya Daniel (Treasurer, 2019-2024),Stacy Nwodo (Financial Secretary, 2019-2023), and Peter Raph (Financial Secretary, 2023-2024). Others are David Ann (Secretary 2023-2024),Amos Enobong (Publicity Secretary 2020-2024) and Godwin Kyespo (Ex Officio 2023-2024)
The protest climaxed into dancing galoo, drumming home their demands signifying a sign of satisfaction for a task well done.
All efforts made by Star Rays Online to confirm all the allegations from the National Executives and the Sunday Sabiyi embattled EXCOs proved abortive as the head offices of these executives were under lock and keys.
