First Lady, Remi Lauds Akume’s Wife On 1year Constituency Accomplishments At NASS.

The First Lady of Federal Republic of Nigeria, Chief Mrs Oluremi Tinubu has given kudos to the wife of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Chief Mrs Regina Akume on her tremendous exploits and constituency accomplishments in her first year in the Federal House of Representatives, while calling on her for the sustainability of the tempo displayed. in addressing the plight of her constituents from Gboko/Tarka Federal Constituency of Benue State.


President Tinubu’s wife dropped this hint in Gboko, Benue State, while delivering her address at the constituency briefing of Rep. Mrs Akume ‘s “open Assembly” , which is the first of its kind in the history of democracy.
Represented by the wife of the Speaker of the Green Chambers, Hajia Tajudeen Abbas, the First Lady was filled with joy for what she witnessed and heard about Rep. Akume’s political trajectory in just one year and gave thanks to God Almighty for the life of the first female Parliamentarian from the constituency. In her words,


“I thanked God for the life of Mrs. Akume and congratulated her on the feat she has achieved in one year on the saddle.
“I also want to use this opportunity to advise her to maintain the tempo as the greatness of her people can only come from practical aspects of leadership known to man”
, she stated.


According to the First Lady, the constituents should always ventilate their views and needs to shape steps that will be taken to have them tackled quickly.


In a related development, the representative of Governor Hyacinth Alia and Deputy Governor of Benue State, Dr. Sam Ode, in his remarks, thanked God for a successful “First Open Assembly” with the people of the constituency.


Governor Alia also thanked the wives of the President and the Speaker of the Federal House of Representatives for honouring the occasion, stressing that the state government also identified with the occasion and gave Rep. Mrs. Akume full blessings.
Speaking, Rep.Mrs. Akume reeled out several achievements recorded within one year at the National Assembly including:

The drilling of 38 boreholes in communities in Gboko and Tarka local governments; building of a befitting accommodation for Doctors in Gboko local government; payment for the operation of constituents’ eyes to enable them to see and building of a school in Gyorov to encourage rural education.


Other projects according to her are the institution of a Health Insurance Scheme for 3000 families for two years; Offering 35 federal appointments for constituents; Influencing the road project from Akpagher through Atim Dzungwe’s palace which has been captured on our national budget among others.


The State Chairman of the All Progressive Congress (APC), Mr. Austin Agada, commended the SGF’s wife for providing dividends of democracy to her constituents and urged the people to continue to support her for maximum benefits.


The First Open Assembly marked the distribution of rice and money for transportation for the good people of Gboko/Tarka Federal Constituency by the Frontline Lawmaker in the 10th Green Chambers, Rep. Mrs Regina Akume.
