BENUE FINANCE COMMISSIONER ASSURES OF GOV. ALIA’S COMMITMENT TO HUMAN, INFRASTRUCTURAL DEVELOPMENT

The Benue State Commissioner of Finance and Economic Development, Hon. Michael Ogblegba has said that the Executive Governor of Benue State, Rev. Fr. Dr. Hyacinth Iomen Alia will redouble his efforts in the second year of the administration to making sure that the desired dividends of democracy is felt across all the nooks and crannies of the state.

The Finance Commissioner who bared his mind to select media men in Makurdi, the state capital, reiterated that massive infrastructural development will soon start simentously across the 23 local government areas of the state and many more roads will be constructed in Makurdi, the state capital that will make the state compete favourably with other states in terms of road network.

Against the backdrop of the nationwide demonstration against bad governance and hunger currently being experienced, the Honourable Commissioner said the Benue people heeded to the plea of the governor and have decided not to partake in the nationwide demonstration and the governor was so happy about that and the kind gesture from the Benue people will not be taken for granted.

He said that the Benue people have realized that the coming of the Alia government have brought hope and things have changed for the better with the regular and up-to-date payment of salary to civil servants and gratuities to retired civil servants and the massive infrastructural development that is going on around the state.

The Commissioner has therefore urged the Benue people to not to be distracted but to keep faith with the Alia government as the governor is committed to the progress and wellbeing of all the people that resides in the state, saying the journey so far have been marvelous as the present government is a far departure from the previous government.
