The Chief of Aso-Pada, Hon. Silas Musa (JP), the Village Head of Aso-Pada has been conferred with a global honour known as” Universal Peace Federation Ambassador For Peace Award” by Universal Peace Federation, an arm of the United Nations For Peace Initiative, for his immense contributions to humanity.
The spokeman of the Team, Mr.Benjamin David eulogies His Highness, Chief Musa's great exploits in community development, within and outside the confines of his Chiefdom; describing him as a man of integrity that "promotes universal moral values, strong family life, inter- religious co-operation, international harmony" amongst other qualities, he stated.
Mr. David further stressed that the award was in cognizance to Chief Hon. Musa's tremendous support to orphanages, the needy, and his dogged fight for peace amongst the warring tribes within and outside his Chiefdom.
The United Nations representative explained further that the award is to challenge him to do more to his people and humanity.
Responding, the Peace Ambassador, Chief Musa JP drummed support for orphans from the private and public sectors; highlighting the numerous challenges facing orphans.
Chief Hon. Musa JP also stated that as a good Leader, you have to take responsibility for the challenges confronting your people; as such, he has developed strategic plans and programmes that will give hope to orphans, vulnerable children and widows. Stressing that “as the Village Head of Aso Pada he has made it a duty to visit orphans annually”, he emphasized.
The Aso Pada Village Head as well, acknowledged the need for food and mobility for the vulnerable children as a major challenge; however, counselled them to have faith in God and aspire to be better people in the society.
The event took place recently at Aso-Pada, the Palace of the Village Head in Mararaba, Karu LGA of Nasarawa State; the arena where the Chief convened subjects to honour prominent sons and daughters with Chieftaincy titles to be part of his Council members and Wakilis.
Earlier, the proceedings of the programme in the Palace was anchored by the Chief Protocol, Chief Shamu J John who revealed that 18 people were to be coronated; out of which,10 were Council Members to work directly with The Chief while 8 were Wakilis, to work directly with the Mai- anguwa.
Prominent on the list as revealed by the Palace Chief Protocol were; Chief Hon. Silas Musa JP, Mr Paul Umeh, Mr Austin Umeh, Mr Okwofuna Timothy and Chief Hon. James Lim Thomas, the immediate past executive chairman of Karu LGA, Nasarawa State.
Others are, Mr. Markus Danjuma and Mr. David Agba Fidel amongst others.Fielding questions from journalists, Chief Musa( JP)said that the coronation exercise has been a regular ritual of his administration.
According to him, this is the third in the series. Stressing that as God has honoured him, he is duty bound to honour others.
Chief Silas Musa further explained that this coronation ceremony is done with the support of two of his loyal king makers namely, Adogo; Babangida Rabo and Turaki; Useni Dangiwa.
It may interest you to know that the Chief is known to be a leader that respect constituted authority. As such, he said, that he cannot conclude his media chat without expressing his appreciation to His Excellency, Engr. Abdullahi A. Sule, the executive Governor of Nasarawa State for his support and most importantly, the father of the land, the Esu Karu, Pharmacist Ada Luka Panya for granting him his permission and royal blessings to host the event.
In a related development,
the deputy chairman of Karu LGA of Nasarawa State, Hon. Ibrahim Bulus commanded the unity exhibited amongst the people of Aso-Pada and advised other communities and Chiefdoms to follow suit.
The deputy Chairman further called for peace, unity, love amongst Nigerians and urged the general public to shun criminality while celebrating Christmas.
Hon. Bulus also called on those who have to share with those who don’t have, in the spirit of love as displayed and exhibited by Jesus Christ.
The deputy Chairman reiterated the resolve of the LGA Council to lend their support to the people in order to cushion the effects of the hardship, while wishing the public a happy Christmas celebration and a prosperous new year in advance.
The event witnessed different cultural dances to add Colour and value to the coronation ceremony.
